Treatment response

Your doctor will monitor
your viral load and CD4 T cell counts to see how well you’re responding to HIV
therapy. At initially, these will be examined every three to six months, then
every two to four weeks.

Your viral load should be so
low that it can't be detected in your blood. That doesn't mean you're immune to
HIV. Even if HIV isn't detected in the blood, it can be found in other parts of
the body, such as lymph nodes and internal organs.
